A very lovely variety of pincushion flower, this one is from Slovenia originally. Forms a slowly spreading clump of soft greyish green leaves, becoming very finely dissected up the stems, a bit like a fern. Many upright wiry stems carrying pretty lilac-blue flowers appear from summer into autumn. A hardy and tough perennial suited for dryer gardens in full sun, with averagely fertile soil. Rocky, sandy or stony soils are perfect, but it is easy to please, just don't give it very rich soils or the stems will be floppy. Height in flower to around 60cm. 9cm pot.
