Another from the Marshwood stable, this beauty has more rounded, slightly larger leaves than some of the x jamensis varieties. A robust performer with gorgeous deep red flowers which age to a dark crimson, flowering for months on end in summer and autumn. As it is a blue-red spectrum rather than an orange-red it makes it easier to place in the garden as it goes nicely with many other colours. Plants form bushy, rounded small shrubs which need to be pruned by at least half after flowering to maintain shape (prune in spring in very cold areas). Prefers at least half a day of sun and handles full sun with ease. Flowering size at maturity 60-80cm high and wide. 1.1 litre pot.
