In one word. Fabulous. If you're looking for a tough and reliably hardy shrubby perennial for a hot dry spot then try this beauty. Mine have grown into rounded, slightly sprawling shrubs around 1 to 1.5m high and wide and flower for many months, much to the bees' delight. Narrow grey-green leaves which are gorgeously scented particularly in hot sun, and, in this particular colour version, long stems studded with whorls of light lavender-blue flowers which make a stunning contrast with the dark bracts. Full sun is best although it will cope with a few hours of early morning or late afternoon shade. It's not particularly fussy about soils, provided it doesn't have wet feet in winter. 9cm pot.
