A new-to-me plant this year, I am keen to see how this performs here over the next year. A perennial wildflower from North America it is often called streambank hollyhock due to its preference for damp stream banks and forest edges. Flowering height can be anything from 60cm to 6ft, with moist, rich soils producing the taller plants (so in drier areas it will be shorter, if that makes sense). Large heart-shaped lobed leaves and in summer densely-packed spikes bring a succession of gorgeous soft lavender-pink flowers. I'm going to try mine in a spot that gets morning sun only - so sun plus light or dappled shade with a moisture-retentive soil is my recommendation. 9cm pot.
