This diminutive and rarely available wee treasure is ideal for an alpine trough or rock garden in a sunny spot, or on the edge of a raised bed where the air and drainage is good and it won't get swamped by other plants. Forms slow growing open rosette-like clumps of slightly rounded wooly leaves that rise up slightly and remind me of cloud formations. The stems will trail ever-so-slightly and as they do they set roots into the ground, so over time you will end up with a nice wee patch. The beautiful two-toned lilac and cream flowers are large by comparison to overall plant size and appear in whorled clusters near the ends of the stems. Prefers a neutral or slightly alkaline soil. Height 5-8cm, spread 15-20cm over time. 9cm pot.
