Eriogonum fasciculatum var. polifolium - 9cm pot
This form is known as Interior California buckwheat due to it hailing from more desert-like regions rather than coastal regions. It is slightly lower growing than the type, with grayer foliage and flowers that open white then age to pink.
A bushy perennial with small, narrow grey-green leaves and an endless succession of gorgeous powder-puff-like white-creamy-pink flowerheads which age to russet-pink as they dry. Ideal for poor stony or sandy soils, or hot dry clay areas, only needs watering to establish, but will grow in any type of soil really as long as it gets at least half a day of sun. Pollinator friendly and flowers over a very long period from spring right through summer into autumn, the flowers changing colour and adding interest as they age. Mature height and width 60cm. 9cm pot.
