Closely related to Asters, this hardy perennial forms small clumps of narrow green leaves at ground level, then comes into its stride in late summer when it sends up a multitude of stems in a large vase-shape, which eventually become smothered in masses of single soft pink daisies, giving the effect of a billowing cloud of flowers in the garden. It is possibly a hybrid of B. asteroides var. latisquama, but shorter and definitely pink rather than lilac. Great for the bees and butterflies too. Full sun, cut back after flowering. 120-150cm, the basal clump of leaves will only be 30cm, but allow space of up to 60cm for the vase-shaped flower stems. 9cm pot.
