(Dark mullein). Another architectural species ideal for naturalistic plantings or as a feature plant in open, dry areas in full sun, this one is easier to place in the garden as it doesn't get as tall as other species. Low-growing, evergreen clumps of large, dark green leaves and numerous spikes of bright golden-yellow flowers, each one with contrasting purple stamens. As with all Verbascum species the flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Drought tolerant, short-lived perennial. Approx. size at flowering 70-100cm high x 60cm wide. 9cm pot.
