Seedlings from this wonderful form which has a bit of a misnomer for a name as it is NOT blue sadly, but definitely different from the usual vibrant pinkish-purple. The flowers are a lovely blueish-mauve, almost with a hint of that metallic sheen that makes flowers glow, and contrast beautifully with the soft grey-green leaves and darker stems. Seedpods are green and often flushed with purple when in full growth, becoming papery and see-through when dried. Prefers a spot where it gets only a half day of sun, or light dappled shade, although the colour will be more striking if it gets some sun. Hardy biennial which may take up to 18 months to flower. 30-40cm without flowers, flowering height to 60-90cm. 9cm pot.
