A variety that is as valuable for its timing as it is for the glorious colour it provides. Rather unusual in that it flowers in mid-summer, with the amazing textural buds appearing like serpents out of the clump of fine narrow foliage in mid-late January. The flowers then colour to a gorgeous apricot-orange colour, deepening with age. I've trialled this one for many years now and it has proved to be well worth having, being very free-flowering in a warm sunny spot with good soil. I would recommend planting it mid-border so that the grassy foliage can be easily hidden or tidied away once flowering has finished. Flowering height 60-70cm, clumps up over time but allow around 40-50cm. Does best in full sun. 1 litre pot.
