One of my favourite species, with clumps of very attractive green leaves veined and edged with burgundy, the stem leaves becoming paler in sunlight. Upright flower spikes bear numerous elegant lavender or lavender-pink coloured flowers that have bearded three-lobed lower lips splashed with white. Prefers reasonably free-draining soils and seems quite happy in full sun or part shade, although I find it does best in a spot with some shade from the hot afternoon sun. 9cm pot.
