(Russian hollyhock). Clumps of foliage which resemble fig leaves and tall spikes bearing stunning large, clear lemon-yellow flowers. More of a true perennial than the usual biennial forms, lasting years in the garden. Cut back the main spike after flowering to encourage more flower stems. These are best planted now so they will flower next summer. Mature size 1.5-1.8m high at flowering. 9cm pot.
