(Dan Shen). This is a graceful plant and one that has proven itself to be long-flowering and very reliable in my garden. Low clumps of soft, pinnately divided foliage which emerge from the winter dormant taproot, followed by whorled spikes of gorgeous lavender-blue flowers, quite large and with a hooded upper lip. This beauty will easily flower for 6 months of the year here. I've tried this in part shade and full sun and it seems to do well in both. In warmer climates it tends to stay semi-evergreen and sometimes flowers out of season in winter too! Height at maturity, with flowers 40-60cm x 40-50cm wide. 1 litre pot.
