Eriogonum giganteum, St. Catherine's Lace
The largest member of the buckwheat family, and extremely drought-tolerant. Slowly forms a woody-based rounded shrub with downy grey leaves. The small white flowers are borne in very large, upright clusters and last for months, turning a rusty colour by the end of summer. Great for insects and the dried flowerheads make lovely cutflowers. Doesn't need watering at all once established, if out in the garden. Will eventually grow to 1.2m high x 1.2m wide. Full sun and good drainage. 9cm Pot.
