Wonderful woody-based shrubby perennial from tropical mountainous areas of South America, where it usually grows as an epiphyte. Surprisingly easy to grow here, but I would think it is frost tender. Will eventually form a bushy shrub to around 1m by 1m, with glossy green leaves and the new foliage has gorgeous autumn hues. Clusters of fat tubular-bottle shaped waxy red flowers with white tips appear for much of the year. Does best out of the glare of hot summer sun, so part shade is best. Mulch well and water occasionally in very dry periods. 1 litre pot.
