Long-lived hardy American wildflower perennials such as this seem to be making a comeback nowadays. Will slowly form a clump with upright stems clothed in narrow green leaves topped from mid summer into autumn with clusters of vanilla scented white flowers. A wonderful plant for the monarch butterflies and the seedpods are also very attractive. Full sun, average to heavy soils, can cope well with moisture but happy in normal garden conditions too. A hardy, completely winter-dormant perennial which will reshoot in spring. Eventually grows to 100-120cm H x 40-50cm W. 1 litre pot. (Image courtesy of Jelitto thank you)
