Eryngium giganteum 'Miss Willmott's Ghost'
(Giant sea holly). Clumps of fleshy green leaves and amazing flowers for a long period in summer. The branched flower stems are topped with large spiny flowers, each with a central cone, and they begin a slightly greenish shade, changing to luminous silver in the heat of the summer and fading to a steely-buff colour. Flowerheads can be left for winter interest or cut back in late autumn. Self sows if happy. Average garden soil and full sun is best. AGM. H 70-90cm x 40cm W. 9cm pot.
