One of the most popular varieties and an absolutely fantastic garden plant! Fabulous in leaf and in flower, this variety forms a large clump of grey-green narrow leaves over time, topped with the ‘wow factor’, upright but slightly arching spikes of deep violet purple flowers from mid summer into autumn. Each flower stem slowly elongates and is covered in soft velvety hairs, which really adds to the appeal. Full sun, good soil, easy to grow. Flowering height 70-80cm, spread to 1m. Can be pruned back to ground level after flowering and it will shoot away from the base in spring. In very cold areas I would recommend leaving the pruning until spring. 1 litre pot.
