Echinacea paradoxa var. paradoxa - 9cm pot
This is the beautiful yellow sister to the ethereal Echinacea pallida and Hula Dancer, so ideal for pairing with other colour combinations and themes where pink just won't do! Narrow leaves from a central tap root, and upright stems of beautiful, large yellow coneflowers. The petals, which seem to have a little more substance than pallida, elongate and droop and twist slightly, creating a very elegant looking flower. Tough, hardy and long-lived but dislikes sitting in wet soil in winter so ensure drainage is good. Winter dormant, retreating completely underground to a woody root. Can be a little slower to establish than E. purpurea but well worth the wait and longer lived. Full sun and average soils. 60-90cm H x 30-40cm W. These are strong growing one-year old plants in 9cm pots.
