Salvia gesneriiflora 'Compact Form'
A beautiful, lower growing form of this large species. The leaves have a slightly golden tinge to them and are evergreen, as the plant generally flowers from winter into spring and early summer, when you can cut it back almost to ground level, allowing fresh foliage to come away. Flowers are extra large, glowing orange-red, loved by the bees. Grows to around 1.5m x 1.5m. Hard frost will knock the flowers off but otherwise it survives most extremes. Sun or part shade. 1 litre pot.
