(Canary spurge; honey spurge). A useful and attractive texture plant from the Canary Islands which forms an evergreen rounded shrub, ideal for waterwise gardens. Fairly narrow fresh mid-green, waxy leaves, each with a contrasting creamy coloured midrib, and in spring heads of honey-scented warm brick-red coloured flowers. As with all Euphorbias the milky sap is an irritant and gloves should always be worn when handling or pruning (although I wouldn’t recommend too much pruning – it grows into a naturally large, rounded and impressive bush!). Full sun to part shade, good drainage. Mature size 1.5 to 2m (height and width). 9cm pot.
