Lunaria annua 'Chedglow' purple honesty
I grew this amazing plant for the first time in 2018 and it took a full 18 months to come up to flower, but in the meantime I had this truly fabulous foliage to look at. Clumps of darkest purple heart-shaped leaves, some of which can be blotched with green. The plants are slow growing above ground while they form big root systems. When it eventually flowers the leafy stems rise up and bear lots of dark magenta flowers, and the stems and seedpods are also a wonderful deep purple. Prefers a spot where it gets only a half day of sun, or dappled shade. 30-40cm without flowers, flowering height to 1m. 9cm pot.
