Salvia aurea 'Green Ginger' 1 litre pot
This special and rarely available variety has become absolutely gorgeous now that it is fully established! Much finer silver foliage than the species and forms a low shrub no more than half the size of the normal form, making it much easier to fit into a smaller bed or landscape. Stunning terracotta coloured flowers open from green buds, followed by gorgeous big lime-green calyces that remain for a while longer after the flowers have dropped. The silver foliage looks good all year round and makes a lovely companion for summer and autumn flowering perennials. A tough plant that handles many situations, is hardy and drought tolerant, but should have good winter drainage and is best in sunny spots. Mine has grown to around 50-60cm high and 60-70cm wide after 3 years in the same spot in full sun. 1 litre pot
