Spanish Thyme, or Mastic Thyme, is a very special plant ideal for dry gardens and drought-prone areas. A small shrubby perennial with a bushy upright stature, the leaves are incredibly aromatic (gorgeous to brush your hand through!). They even smell amazing when it's raining, like a cross between mint and thyme. An evergreen plant, the spikes of creamy white flowers appear out of fuzzy, whiskery bracts in late spring and early summer and give the whole plant a uniquely fluffy appearance, adding to its appeal. Apart from its use in the landscape it is also used for both culinary and medicinal purposes, as well as providing a great food source for pollinators. Loves a hot dry site in full sun so only water to establish. Size at maturity 25-30cm high x 30-50cm wide. 1 litre pot.
