Never mind the bees, this one was an absolute magnet for me last summer. I was thrilled to obtain this gorgeous variety from Marshwood Gardens last year and I'm already looking forward to seeing it flower again later this summer. Clumps of glossy dark green foliage and upright stems with intensely coloured deep violet-purple semi-double flowers with a metallic shimmer. The petals have a striking feature in that the ends look like they've been trimmed with a pair of those old fashioned crimping shears, which just adds to this beauty's attraction. A taller variety with stems to around 1m to 1.2m and it seems to be a strong clumper but not a runner, for those of you familiar with Asters. Full sun. 9cm pot.
