This is a gorgeous Phlomis with wonderful foliage and flowers. The rich green leaves are quite large and beautifully heart-shaped, adding extra interest to the garden. Tall bronze stems to around 1.2m appear from late spring through into mid-summer, each one studded with attractive whorls that open to reveal soft lavender-pink hooded flowers. Hardy and tough, I find mine is mostly dormant or semi-dormant in winter. Sun or part-light shade and average soils. Flowering size at maturity to 1.2m high, around 60cm wide. 9cm pot.
