Rarely grown here in NZ is this very special perennial rock rose which forms rosettes of stiff almost succulent foliage, the leaves being gorgeously tactile and reminiscent of a wide-leaf plantain. Sprays of bright lemon-yellow saucer-shaped flowers, similar to Helianthemum, appear in early summer. In the wild this species grows in garrigue or open dry shrubby woodland areas of the Mediterranean, so it will need a dry, sunny, free-draining spot and only water to establish. Size at maturity 30cm. 9cm pot.
