Cardoon. A magnificent ornamental variety without the large spines typical of this species. The leaves still appear to have a few prickly edges though. Will eventually grow big enough to produce the stunning large purple thistle-like flowers which are a magnet for all sorts of bees and ideal as cutflowers. Mature size 1.2m x 70-90cm. 1 litre pot.
