Heuchera maxima - 9cm pot
An excellent plant for light, dry shade, this species from the Channel Islands, California, makes low clumps of very attractive large rounded leaves, with lovely scalloped edges. Plentiful spikes of cream flowers on tall pinkish-maroon stems, held above the foliage from spring into summer. Will happily handle some sun, particularly in the morning. 50-70cm high at flowering x 30-50cm wide. Full to part shade, such as under trees. Species tend to be hardier and easier to keep happy than some of the more modern hybrids, so if you haven't had success with those flashy cultivars try a species like this! 9cm pot.
