Verbascum creticum 'Cotswold King'
This hardy biennial has the reputation of having the largest flowers of any Verbascum, and it is certainly true in my opinion. Stately, branched spikes arise from leafy green rosettes, carrying large, sweetly scented, cream and butter yellow flowers, with purple bees in the centre. Prefers full sun. Allow to self sow for future plantings. Grows in any soil type, but will grow best and have the largest flowers in rich soils. 90-150cm x 30-40cm. 1 litre pot.
