Rarely offered, this species is totally different to its more common annual relatives. A robust and stately plant with multiple erect stems clothed in fairly large elongated leaves that change from green to grey-green as they age. Stout, upright dark red flower stems carry long tubular brick red flowers over a long period from mid-summer. This is a really special and spectacular, tropical-looking plant for a free-draining site in full sun, with an occasional water over summer. Winter dormant - protect from frost. H 1.5-2m in flower, spread 60-100cm (over time). 1 litre pot.
