(Stokes’ Aster). A tough and hardy perennial with clumps of narrow dark green leaves and beautiful large cornflower-like blooms which are purplish-blue and have heavily fringed petals, giving a slightly shaggy effect reminiscent of a shasta daisy. I have several forms in the garden now and they are fast becoming a favourite as they are easy to grow, low maintenance and long lasting. Full sun. 45cm H x 45cm W. 1 litre pot.
