Salvia argentea - 9cm pot
One of my favourite foliage plants, which forms a clump of highly attractive large, furry, silvery-grey leaves. The leaves alone always draw comment, but the candelabra-like flower stems are nothing short of magnificent, with masses of stunning pure white flowers in early summer. Drought tolerant and prefers a well-drained position in full sun. Plant where the soft leaves can be touched – everybody wants to do this! This can behave like a biennial and will often die once it flowers and sets seed, but it can live longer if the flower stem is cut back straight after flowering, and you will usually get two years of fabulous foliage to look at. Plant a few every year or two to enjoy. Flowering height 70-100cm, foliage clump around 40cm across. 9cm pot.
