Salvia 'Costa Rica Blue'
This is a sibling of ‘Omaha Gold’ which forms a bushy shrub with soft tropical-furry leaves and stunning heads of large violet-blue flowers with very dark, almost black bracts. Long autumn flowering. Slightly frost tender, does best in part shade especially in hot areas. Prune by at least half in spring after frosts have passed to maintain shape (and will respond well to hard pruning if it gets woody). A well drained but moisture retentive soil is best, with compost as mulch. 1.5-2m H x 1.5m. 1 litre pot.
