Salvia transsylvanica 'Blue Cloud'
I love this plant as it's a really useful and long-flowering hardy perennial in my garden, which is neither too big nor too small...so it doesn't smother everything around it but has enough presence to be seen. Basal clumps of large, slightly crinkly dark green leaves and multiple, branched flower stems carrying whorls of gorgeous deep blue flowers appear in succession from late spring right through until autumn for me. Prefers full sun and average soil, and is drought tolerant once established but the odd bit of water will keep it flourishing too. Deadhead to encourage more flower stems to form. Flowering size 50-90cm high x 40cm wide. 9cm pot.
