Beautiful perennial useful for both humans and bees. The foliage smells like pineapples and can be used along with the flowers to add to summer drinks or icecubes. Forms a large clump of pointed oval leaves, soft to touch, and in autumn sends up tall stems clothed in fire-engine-red flowers, which the bees love. Prefers a tropical climate - full sun but water retentive soils, with a good soaking every now and then in the heat of the summer. Half hardy perennial. 1.5m H x 1.2m W
