I love this hardy South African species as it’s so easy to place in the garden and is relatively low maintenance. Forms a bushy shrub with many upright stems clothed in small, fairly tough mid-green leaves. Crowded clusters of good-sized two-toned light violet flowers with contrasting deep redcalyces appear from mid-summer through to autumn. Tolerates a range of conditions and will grow in clay or lighter soils, prefers at least half day of sun. Prune after flowering. 1.2-1.5m x 1.2m. 1 litre pot.
