Eryngium planum (Sea holly)
A useful architectural plant in the garden, with many branched stems carrying prickly thistle-like flowers which start out silver-blue, developing to bright steel blue. Highly recommended for drought prone areas, this plant loves hot dry areas of the garden. Do not fertilise or the plants may become too soft and fall over. Makes a great cutflower, fresh or dried, and loved by bees and butterflies too. H to 1.2m x 40-60cm W. 1 litre pot.
