Salvia verticillata 'Purple Fairy Tale'
I love this plant as it provides colour for most of the summer and has nicely structured whorled flower stems. A frost hardy, winter dormant herbaceous perennial that forms clumps of broadly arrow-shaped leaves which feel soft to touch due to being covered in short hairs. Many upright flower stems carry masses of small violet blue flowers with purple calyces, creating a haze of colour. Can be used for picking. Full sun, deadhead to encourage repeat flowering. 50-60cm high x 40cm wide. 9cm pot.
