(Madeiran Giant Black Parsley). An old friend of mine from many years ago, I’m so pleased to offer this beauty. Grown initially for its foliage, it takes a year or two to flower, but when it does it has a true wow factor. Large ferny green leaves sprout outwards from a central, striped, trunk-like stem which grows higher as it ages. The flowers are enormous umbels of tiny rose-pink flowers. Each plant can produce a flowerhead to 2 feet wide. Will die after flowering but allow just one head to self-sow for future plants. Can be a little frost tender in hard frosts. Full sun to part shade. Can grow 1.5-1.8m tall in flower, and around a metre wide including the leaves. 1 litre pot.
