Given to me as the true species but further research shows that this is a hybrid of G. cardinalis, the species itself not really being suitable for the garden due to it preferring to grow near waterfalls! One of the most vivid and stunning flowers in my early summer garden with spikes of large but elegant flowers of a very vivid dark red, nicely marked with white on the lower petals, and a silver reverse. Height 50-60cm. 3 bulbs per pack.
