(Oriental poppy) Stunning fully hardy perennial poppy that bears huge satiny, crepe-paper like scarlet red flowers, with deep purple-black centres. Oriental poppies usually become dormant in the late summer heat, so don’t be alarmed if this happens, as they will re-shoot and form low clumps of coarse, hairy green leaves prior to flowering. Full sun, good drainage and air flow around the plant is best.
