Eupatorium purpureum - 9cm pot
(Sweet-scented-joe-pye-weed). Ultimately a large, vigorous and very beautiful late summer flowerer, which is a magnet for butterflies, bees and other pollinators. Winter dormant in cold areas, in spring it shoots away, bearing by late summer strong, multiple stems topped with dome shaped clusters of purplish-pink flowers, sweetly scented with vanilla. Prefers good, moisture-retentive soils and full sun to part shade. Mature clump size at flowering 1.5-2m high x 60-90cm wide. 1 litre pot.
