This is a really fantastic addition to any garden, ideally suited to a small shrubbery or back-of-border position, where it will flower repeatedly throughout the year. Forms an upright, bushy shrub, with soft, dark green leaves on stout square stems, which can be a little brittle in very strong winds. Many spikes of large deep violet-purple flowers with showy bracts that are even darker in colour, sometimes almost black. Full sun to part shade, cut back by ½ after each successive flowering to keep it bushy. Flowering size approx.1.5-1.7m H x 1m W. 1 litre pot.
