Salvia gesneriiflora 'Compact Form' - 1 litre pot
Please note these will be cut back to fit in carton. A beautiful, lower growing form of this large species. The leaves have a very slight golden tinge to them and are evergreen, making it a great feature plant to have all-year-round. The plant generally flowers from winter into spring and early summer, when you can cut it back almost to ground level, allowing fresh foliage to come away. Flowers are extra large, glowing orange-red, loved by the bees and look fabulous with the contrasting dark stems and calyces. Grows to around 1.5-1.8m tall x 1.5m wide if left unpruned. Very hard frost will knock the flowers off but otherwise it survives most extremes. Sun or part shade, I find mine loves morning sun then light shade in the afternoon heat. 1 litre pot.
