A delightful smaller variety ideally suited to the part shade and dryish conditions near trees and shrubs where the flowers can give a real splash of colour to the garden. Small, rounded green leaves with scalloped edges take on purplish hues when exposed to heat. Multiple sturdy upright stems bear bright scarlet flowers over a long period in summer, the colour is quite deep and luminous rather than glary if that makes sense. Winter dormant perennial, hardy if kept reasonably dry throughout winter. Grows well in pots in part shade. Flowering height around 30-40cm. Deadhead to prolong flowering. 9cm pot.
