Gorgeous, frothy clumps of green leaves topped with a never-ending succession of pincushion flowers in striking deep, double red, creating wonderful orbs of colour in the garden. Full sun to part shade and average soil. 40-60cm high at flowering, can spread to 40-50cm wide. I can’t get enough of this particular species (S. atropurpurea) as they are really proving themselves in the garden and are ideal as cut flowers as they have long, very strong stems. Butterflies absolutely love them too. 1 litre pot.
