Primula capitata ssp. mooreana
A lovely smaller species ideal for damp, shaded areas of the garden. I have not seen these in flower yet but the elegant wee clumps of silvery leaves look exactly as they should for this species. Beautiful deep violet-blue flowers are borne in slightly flattened cylindrical heads from late spring into summer. The flowers are set off nicely by the silvery farina which covers the stems and quite often looks like frosting on the flowerheads. Flowering height around 25cm. 1 litre pot.
