A striking and beautiful plant ideal for shady areas with rich, damp soil, or part-sun in cooler regions. Forms deciduous clumps of narrow light green leaves and in late spring to early summer a flurry of flower spikes appear, each starting off red in bud, then gradually the flowers open to lilac purple, starting at the base of the flowerhead. The resulting colour combination is quite something! Flowering size 30-40cm H x 30cm W. 1 litre pot.
