What was Aster ptarmicoides is now Solidago, and is a new plant for me. A tough and drought-hardy perennial from North America, where it is known as prairie goldenrod or upland white aster, it forms low clumps of slender, dark green leaves. Flat-topped clusters of lovely white flowers appear over summer on short stems above the foliage. Ideal in average to sandy or rocky soils, making it great for tricky areas of the garden or where a lack of water is an issue. Needs medium to dry soils in full sun, flowering height 30-50cm. 9cm pot.
